In June, NWC took a month-long Study Abroad trip to St. Petersburg. Our President arranged this trip and invited a University of Memphis student to study Russian language at St. Petersburg State University. It was a fantastic time of learning, exploring the culture and history of St. Petersburg and enjoying the White Nights! Anna Terry traveled to Moscow to meet with US Ambassador Michael McFaul, who was amazed at the accomplishments made by New World Connection in our short history, and expressed his gratitude for our hard work.
Friday, April 19th was the last concert of a wonderful season of classical concerts organized by conductor Nadya Potemkina. The Russian Cultural Center would like to thank Nadya heartily for organizing this season, and all the musicians for sharing their amazing talents with us! After the concert, children were invited to try their hand at playing the instruments.

The one-year anniversary of the Russian Cultural Center was celebrated on January 13 and 14th. Speakers were State Senator Brian Kelsey, Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell and Director of the RCC Anna Terry. A special photography exhibit "Seven Days in Russia" by M.G.
