Beck Niyazov, Leader of the Russian Cultural Center Project in Memphis, TN
Awarded by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam
This year started with the Anniversary of the Russian Cultural Center in Memphis, TN. This unique Project was developed by the team led by Dr. Niyazov, and never would have been realized without his strong leadership. Working with Yury Zaytsev, Head of the Russian Cultural Center in Washington, DC, Dr. Niyazov formed the vision that quickly became the Russian Cultural Center, on S. Main St. in the Arts District of downtown Memphis.
Within one year Dr. Niyazov’s personal contributions were recognized officially with Appreciation from Governor Bill Haslam for “outstanding service in the best interests and in the highest traditions of the State of Tennessee” and a Proclamation by the Senate of Tennessee for “strengthening and improving relations between this nation and Russia.”
As Leader of the RCC Project, Dr. Niyazov works to bring people together through education and arts. One of the Programs - Youth Business Forum invites young professionals to meet their peers in the Russian Federation. As Jamey Cresswell stated after his recent trip to the Russian Federation, “I had the opportunity to socialize with many Russians. These individuals, like the other people in my group, had many preconceived notions about differences between Americans and Russians. Through interaction during the Program, we were able to break down or understand many of these differences.”
Dr. Niyazov says, “It is my goal to build lasting relationships between young people from our two countries, which inevitably lead to new opportunities for education, travel and work for those willing to make the effort to reach out across the boundaries that divide us. This includes business as well. Through M & B Connection, we are able to develop commercial interests that fit the skills and background of our participants.”
New World Connection, Inc. Board of Directors congratulates Dr. Niyazov on his achievements and looks forward to the coming year’s progress and developments.
